£1500 Raised For Sport Relief 2016

Under the watchful eye of Olympics boxing referee Bill Phillips, members of Bishop’s Stortford Amateur Boxing Club and Scott Gleed’s Boxfit took part in a charity boxing event in aid of Sport Relief 2016.

Among the excellent bouts that took place was the debut fight for ex-England Rugby Hooker Andy Long against our very own Scott ‘The Guvnor’ Gleed. Andy Long commented on his admiration for fellow boxers, admitting that it’s ‘a lot harder than it looks’. The paramedic in attendance thankfully had a quiet night with all the boxers heading home safely…with a few more bruises than they arrived with.

The event was sponsored by Ceilite Air Conditioning Ltd, Air Conditioning Specialists in Stansted, Multitech Site Services, Temporary Electrics & Site Services Contractors in Great Dunmow and Edmundson Electrical in Bishop’s Stortford.

Another similar boxing event is planned for December 2016.
